2020.09.23 04:56 hansoloqueue_ Help reform a Mac user/console gamer

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.
Everything. This is going to be my entire media and working hub. Will essentially replace my TV, MacBook Pro, and PS4 for consistent day to day use.
Multitasking: Work from home, running multiple programs, Office, remote desktop, casual photo editing, streaming, two browsers with many open tabs at all times.
Gaming: AAA titles, Cyberpunk, Rocket League, Diablo 4, COD. 1440p, hoping to push 4k where available.
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
~$1,500 (before monitor) but willing to push a bit if needed for a difference making component.
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
"Deadline" is November 19th to be fully built. I'm waiting for the 3070 release and AMD 5000 details. Willing to buy mid to high tier current gen CPU and GPU pending stock availability and price of new gen.
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
Everything. Case, all components, keyboard, mouse, Windows. (Speakers or headphones would be nice to squeeze into budget but not necessary).
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
Wisconsin, USA. Nearest Microcenter is in IL (approx. 3 hours away, so not convenient).
If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.
I have a HP 27es monitor (no VESA mount) that I can use in the short term, but looking for a big upgrade sooner rather than later so I can repurpose this as a second screen.
Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
Not really on my radar at the moment, but I would appreciate a system capable enough to do it.
Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
I would like to dual boot MacOS and Windows 10 if possible. Would also prefer PC to be VR ready.
What type of network connectivity do you need? (Wired and/or WiFi) If WiFi is needed and you would like to find the fastest match for your wireless router, please list any specifics.
Require hardwire connection, would prefer mobo with wifi and bluetooth but I don't mind getting separate adapters if needed.
Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?
Clean, minimalistic design along the lines of the H510 with decent airflow.
Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?
Yes, will require Windows 10.
Extra info or particulars:
*Decision making is paralyzing to me because I obsess over minutiae with everything. *Not brand loyal. Mostly looking to maximize my money while not sacrificing performance/stability just to save a buck. *I'm hoping to color coordinate between white, black, and gold (if possible) - also open to RBG options. *Having a hard time deciding between a dual monitors or ultra wide. Leaning toward ultra wide, but could use feedback here. *Looking to maximize audio quality. *Hoping to build something that will not require any upgrades for 5 years.
Thank you to anyone who helps.

2020.09.23 04:17 Little_Lahey_Show Getting a phone number off a work telephone

Im from Wisconsin and I work at a bar and a guy came in wanting to drink. He found out I was dating a girl that was in the bar and that he was interested in (and apparently friends with her) and they went to a bar down the road. My GF called the bar off his number to get picked up at bar close. So after bar close, I called the number back. I used my cell phone so they would probably answer instead of using the bar phone. Now he says that's illegal to take a number from work and use it personally. Is this illegal? I know I might get in trouble at work, I honestly don't care, but is this something prosecutors could charge me with?

2020.09.22 06:54 not_another_goth Yall I'm going to marry my angel

So I posted here last month about my guardian angel, this incredibly sweet blonde haired lad.
See story here
It's pure insanity. I need to go more in depth of how I met my viking angel.
We met on tinder, by pure chance. I was in the middle of moving to a larger city. He was from the town I was leaving. After about a day of talking we met for the first time, to exercise our dogs.
I had seen him before at the dog park. His dog is an unforgettable akita. He himself is unforgettable too and I thought I would never have a chance. I never approached him before our first date. Our first date was terrible. Both of us where so incredibly awkward (me being 6 months out a marriage and a bad 2 week relationship) and him having not dated for 4 years to avoid high school drama.
I moved. I assumed to never see him again. I wallowed in my pits of despair, and he was a very soft light that made me happy. He was my first friend in awhile.
My neighbor, who has become my closest female friend, was upset that I was still hung up over the boy I moved for (who dumped me days before I signed lease). She stole my phone while we where shopping and asked my viking out for me, because my face lit up every time my phone dinged.
I was suprised he accepted my friends forced request of us dating. Our second date I still assumed he wasnt intrested however. He was too good for me. Too attractive, too attentive. Too weird.
It wasnt until our third date later that week that I understood.
Now, here I am. On September 4th I proposed half way awake, with a pounding migraine that he was tending to. I had gotten off a 12 hour shift and drove an hour to suprise him.
We had been together for less than 2 months. He accepted gleefully. After 3 weeks of dating he was already talking about potential venues as "jokes" (when he told me he was secretly already hoping to marry me).
It's still weird to me. Many of those close to me have had relationships like this but I never figured I would be one. I'm the one in my social circles who moves slow and is terrified to open up. And yet, with this boy I found myself smitten.
So... I'm engaged, with a bit more rush to divorce my ex (who I really should had never married). We have plans of a very very small outdoors wedding next august, being just our parents and a few very close friends. Savings are already being made for our joint desire to own land in Wisconsin.
Its weird to find someone who clicks so well. But I'm so incredibly grateful to have found this missing piece of me, who is so gentle with me. He has seen me at my absolute worst, in the deepest I've been in for my depression. And yet he still wants to be with me. I worry he might be rushing it, given hes so young (21) but I am happy to go at whatever speed he sails.
I dont really have anywhere else to share this rant about this. I'm scared of being judged for being engaged to someone I've seriously only known for less than 3 months... but I found the person I click with best. We could talk for hours, or just sit in silence and enjoy each others company. I think I found my soul mate, if they exist. I can't imagine life without him anymore. And he vibes the same way.
Tl;dr; I got engaged to someone who started dating me when I was a mad alcoholic and hella depressed. We have known each other for a little less than 3 months.

Paulette regenerates into a tropical storm, because why not?

As if the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season couldn't get weird enough, an area of low pressure which transitioned from a Category 2 hurricane into a powerful extratropical cyclone on Wednesday, 16 September, drifted northeastward over the open waters of the northern Atlantic, and then dipped far southward over the northeastern Atlantic, has redeveloped into a full-fledged tropical storm to the south of the Azores this morning. The National Hurricane Center welcomed back Paulette at 3:00 AM local time (Azores Summer Time, which is the same as UTC).
Animated infrared imagery has depicted a gradual increase in deep convection over the past several hours near and to the east of the still well-defined low-level center. The development of this convection has strengthened surface-level winds within the cyclone, according to recent scatterometer data, which indicates that the storm is now producing maximum one-minute sustained winds of 50 knots (60 miles per hour)! Scatterometer data also helped to confirm that Paulette is producing these winds within a very small radius from the low-level center, indicating that Paulette has undergone transition into a tropical cyclone, not merely a subtropical cyclone. This is the real deal, folks.
Paulette is currently moving toward the east-northeast along the northwestern periphery of a subtropical ridge centered over the Sahara Desert. The storm is being pushed forward by a deepening mid-latitude trough which has dug southeastward over the northeastern Atlantic over the past couple of days.
Latest data NHC Advisory #40 3:00 AM GMT
Current location: 33.9°N 25.3°W 899 miles (1447 km) NE of Hamilton, Bermuda
Forward motion: ENE (75°) at 14 knots (26 km/h)
Maximum winds: 50 knots (95 km/h)
Intensity: Tropical Storm
Minimum pressure: 1004 millibars (29.65 inches)

Forecast discussion

Last updated: Tuesday, 22 September 2020 - 2:50 AM GMT

Paulette is not expected to undergo any additional strengthening

Paulette has managed to regenerate in an area of the Atlantic which would not ordinarily support the development of a full-fledged tropical cyclone, primarily because the sea-surface temperatures (24 to 25°C) are too cool to support the development of sustained deep convection near the low-level center. However, because the cyclone has maintained a well-defined low-level circulation and because upper-level temperatures have been frigid enough, there has been sufficient atmospheric instability for convection to develop and thrive.
Paulette is not expected to undergo any significant development as it drifts toward the east-northeast over the next couple of days. Sea-surface temperatures are expected to continue to gradually decrease as Paulette approaches the Bay of Biscay and north-northeasterly shear is expected to increase to around 25 to 30 knots. Paulette is expected to remain a tropical cyclone through Thursday afternoon before degenerating into a remnant low and turning sharply toward the southwest as the increasingly shallow cyclone becomes embedded within low-level easterly flow. Unlike Alpha last week, Paulette is not expected to make landfall over mainland Portugal.

2020.09.21 21:08 taintedglass13 30 [F4M] dating app burn out seeks forever

I am starting to feel like my person isn't in my small Midwestern city. So I'm going to give this a try.
A little about me... The basics As stated I am a 30 year old single white female no kids and never married living in Wisconsin for the time being but not committed to staying here. I am 5'4" a the PC term is curvy. I'm trying to work on it. It's hard. Not religious and would prefer you not to be as well.
A little about me... The easy stuff
I love biking usually on rails to trails conversions or single track mountain biking. I am kinda new too it too so sometimes I b*tch my way up hill and wimp out on Scarry features. I also love cooking and baking and I want someone to cook for an eat with. I love to cuddle and will 5 more minutes us until we're late every morning if you let me. Don't let me, except on special occasions. I like cats more than dogs but I think maybe dogs suit my lifestyle better. I like to tell people that I love reading but I don't seem to do it much anymore so maybe I don't?? I'm trying to change that. I enjoy tabletop gaming, but I'm not hard core about it. I have a good group and we play a mixed bag of more serious campaign style high strategy games and silly one offs suitable for eager learner's. I don't really watch TV anymore but I do consume an alarming amount of YouTube. Probably rotting my brain. I decided a couple years ago to go back to school. I'm doing that still. It's been eye opening. I want to do more camping and just spend as much time outside as I can and I want someone who will come with me. I believe in taking care of myself. I frequently DIY repairs on my car and I'm pretty proud of that. I want to travel a lot of we can do that again ever.
A little about me... The harder stuff
I am pretty type A and I am constantly looking several steps ahead trying to plan and generally struggling with pessimism. It would be good if you leaned optimistic but also kinda type A. I have a colored dating history that includes some sexual assault, and a man who had a second gf and a second home in another city. I don't trust easily. I do not want to have children and this is non negotiable.
I am looking for love and commitment and I'm ready to give those things back. I believe that the best relationships are built on open honest communication, trust, and partnership.
If I haven't scared you off I look forward to hearing from you.

2020.09.21 17:19 BrokenUpLeaser I want to break up with my boyfriend but we still have six months left on lease.

Per the title, I am in a bit of a complex living situation at the moment. This question pertains to how I would be able to break a lease early and my liabilities in doing so, and while I have a general idea of my options based on the cookie cutter advice I was able to find online, I wanted to lay out the specifics of my situation to see if anyone had any advice on alternative options available to me.
I moved into half of a duplex with myself, my boyfriend, and two of his friends in March. To cut a long story short, my boyfriend and I have settled into what has mostly become a loveless relationship where we do our own thing and I am no longer happy and would like to move on. As of writing this, I have not done so yet because the second I pull the trigger, my living situation will become astronomically more stressful due to the way our current living situation is.
In the house, I share a larger bedroom and bathroom with my boyfriend, and my other two room mates each have their own, tinier rooms. Besides a kitchen and a living room, we have no other rooms in the house. As such, there really isn't a way to "seperate" from my boyfriend after we break up.
Regarding our lease, I have obtained a copy to review and have observed that I am listed as "Other tenant" on the lease and the lease itself was only signed by my boyfriend and our other two room mates. I did not sign the lease, I was not really involved in the process and came along for the ride.
My question then stems from what the legal ramifications of me moving out would be. If I am listed simply as "Other Tenant" on the lease with my name following and did not sign, what are my obligations here? I have not so much as spoken to our landlord so I don't know where the law falls on this.

Additional info:
- I live in Wisconsin.
- The rent was also arbitrarily raised to accomodate me as a fourth person as it was advertised at a price for 3 people. I am wondering whether this would be relevant at all in the event the landlord attempts to recoup missing rent if I am legally liable and want to move out early.
- It is unlikely that replacing me is possible again due to the living situation. It really only works to share a room as small as I am in with my boyfriend because we're dating, there isn't room for 2 beds etc. I also don't think my room mates would be open to a stranger moving in due to COVID.
I accept that I may be shit out of luck, but the reality of the situation is that my best option as it stands is to pretend my relationship is fine for the next 6 months to prevent serious turmoil in the house until the lease is up, as I cannot afford to move out if I am liable for rent. This obviously will have a huge emotional toll on me which is why I'm now trying to see if I have an out.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

tl;dr - LDR with no end date in sight
My girlfriend of a year lives in Wisconsin and I live in Texas. After we graduated, we decided to give long distance a shot and have been doing so for about 1-2 months now. (Spent a lot of those post grad months together)
I love this woman more than anything. But for the past 2 weeks, I have found myself consumed by the fact there is no end date in sight. With her current job situation, the best case scenario would be only 18 months of long distance (that’s if she moved to Texas after her current job ends)...
I don’t see myself moving any time in the next couple of years as I have a great job lined up right now. And after her job ends, she wants to move to NYC to follow her dream, not Texas. I’m not the type of guy to stop her from following her dream.
With no end date in sight, I feel nauseas at the idea of doing this for 2-4 years while in constant long distance limbo.
I love this woman. But I don’t think I can do it. It makes me feel weak to give up, but I don’t think I have a choice when it comes to my sanity.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

2020.09.19 15:08 meadowwiltongoddess Everyone always talks about the Black Widow Brigade...

But how come no one ever brings up the Yasur Six from Vanuatu? They were truly one of the best, most complex, and most compelling alliances in Survivor history - let alone female alliance.
Twila: a blunt highway repair worker from rural Missouri - arguably the most brutally honest person in Survivor history. Played an absolutely incredible game and made it all the way to the final two (coming in second). Widely considered to be one of, if not the best character in Survivor history - mainly due to the full-circle of her Survivor journey as (after stabbing everyone in the back) she realises in the final tribal council that "people kill for less than what we're playing for", that "it wasn't me who played the game, it was the game that played me" and that all she wants is forgiveness. Hates sorority girls.
Scout: a super wise and spirited 59 year-old LGBT+ rancher from Oklahoma. Controlled the game with Twila from the final seven onwards and would have been in the final two if Chris didn't win final immunity; voted out on Day 38. Had some great one-liners such as her scathing voting confessional for Mia: "your volcano erupts more than I like... good luck in finding a husband that'll put up with you." Also hates sorority girls.
Eliza: an extremely opinionated Type A law student/sorority girl from New York. Known for being arguably the most expressive player in Survivor history, Eliza was at the centre of so much conflict this season yet was the crucial swing vote for the pivotal tribal councils where Dolly left 5-4, and where Leann left 4-3. Had a legendary rivalry with Twila that lasted all season long yet ended up depending on each other when the alliance crumbled. Hated Twila and would ALWAYS speak her mind (also known for her iconic "it's a f*cking stick" scene when she was to return seven seasons later in Micronesia).
Julie: an optimistic Native American youth mentor from Maine who dated Jeff Probst!!! One of the best social players to never win who came in fifth place after her allies turned on her. Has the most heart-wrenching jury speech of all time where she starts crying before she even begins to speak due to the level of betrayal she feels. Extremely underrated player.
Ami: a cutthroat lesbian barista from Colorado who is the BEST female villain of all time. To say Ami was a villain in Vanuatu would be putting it lightly (I know she wasn't as devious in Micronesia but this was because her best friend took his own life literally right before she left to film and as a result she was self-admittedly not in the right headspace to do Survivor). The way she cut Lisa off was about as stone-cold and brutal as Survivor gets, yet it's what made her such a compelling villain to watch.
Leann: an aspiring actress from Wisconsin who (despite being the first person out when the alliance turned on each other and also one of the quieter personalities in the group) ran the entire game alongside Ami as the leaders of the alliance from the start to the final seven, where in a 4-3 vote Leann was completely blindsided - the best blindside of all time (in my opinion).
Now, what makes this alliance truly one of the best?
First and foremost is the diversity in personality. Twila and Scout's worst nightmare was someone like Eliza who is about as opinionated as one can get and this led to several iconic fights. Furthermore, this group of women really did not like each other yet stuck together out of necessity. However when Twila finally decided to flip (by acquiring Scout, Eliza, and Chris' votes) on Leann at the final seven some of the best fights and voting confessionals came afterwards such as:
Twila for Ami: "drama queen 'til the end.
"Ami for Scout: "you're pretty good at hiding your nasty side but when your true colours come out they're no part of any rainbow I've ever seen."
Scout for Ami: "queens get dethroned and lightning will strike a lone tree on top of a mountain faster than anything."
Eliza for Twila: "I have been waiting to vote you off since the day I met you. I cannot believe that 36 days later I'm finally getting this opportunity."
Eliza for Twila: "Twila - I am voting for you for the third time this game, you're like the cockroach that won't die under the refrigerator. Hopefully you're going home tonight."
Twila for Eliza: "you have driven me crazy from Day 1, if you go home tonight it's going to be the happiest night since I've been here. You've got a lot of growing up to do."
Twila and Eliza bickered non-stop for 37 days, and everyone else in the alliance had their arguments - made for amazing TV.
Next up is just how good this alliance was at the game. Twila, Julie, and Ami are all (in my opinion) three of the top fifteen players to never win and I'd honestly put Scout in the top 25-30 to never win. These girls were really good at the game - Twila and Ami were brilliant strategically and as I mentioned earlier Julie Berry is still one of the best social players of all time for how she navigated herself through the game - particularly in how she integrated herself back into the majority after being left out of the first two votes, and during her time on Lopevi when it was just her and Twila. This alliance gave us some incredible top-tier female villains (my fav archetype) with Twila, Eliza, and Ami. Twila was cut last minute from 16, 20 (as a villain), and 27. Ami and Eliza have been asked back numerous times too. Scout was actually asked back for 40 (before it became winners only)!! Julie supposedly isn't allowed to play again due to her relationship with Jeff but if not for that she would have been a lock to return at some point.
Overall, this alliance had everything the Black Widow Brigade had (except for a winner), but compensated with so much internal drama that truly made the second half of Vanuatu one of the most exciting and unpredictable series of episodes in Survivor history. I would love to see this group of women brought up more often as one of the all-time great alliances, and on a side-note I think that Scout and Eliza are one of the most underrated dynamic duos ever (I never see them get brought up too).

2020.09.19 08:47 throw_away_1996_ I feel like a failure, mom. And it's kind of your fault.

(I apologize in advance for the wall of text and for the throwaway account)
I wish I could say all this to you in person, but I know you won't care, especially since I disowned you as my mother 3 years ago. I'll just be told that I'm playing the "Cinderella story" again and it'll just blow up in my face. I need to get all this off my chest though so I guess reddit will have to do.
After my brother was born, the way you acted towards me changed. I was young, and didn't realize what was happening. You didn't care about me anymore. I existed to you as a stark reminder of the mistakes you made with my father, and you resented me for it. My brother was the perfect one though, the angel, while I was the angry kid that didn't behave and needed my ass beat for everything. You literally went out of your way to tell your friends and family that I was a problematic child. It was honestly kind of funny to see the suprise on their face when the realized my brother was the demon child, not me.
My feelings of resentment for you really began when you decided to take me and my brother walk around downtown like we were homeless (rattiest clothes, a few possessions in a box that I carried on that 5 mile walk) because of my slipping grades and him breaking your stuff. When you finally loaded us into the car and brought us home at 1 am, you then ripped up my Yugioh cards and made me pick them all up and throw them away, which to you didn't seem like anything to worry about. But to me, it was a spit in the face. You destroyed a gift from the only friend I had at the time. You destroyed my first hobby, something that made me genuinely happy.
My mental health deteriorated even further as the years went on. All you did was drink and beat the shit out of me. You never once tried to understand what was going on in my head. You made me stay up all night writing out multiplication tables in the fifth grade because I was just bad at math, and when my stepfather found me curled up asleep with the dog at 3 am and told me to go to bed, you grabbed me by the hair while I was sleeping and dragged me out of bed back to the notebook. You socked me in the face a few days later because I said "That's stupid" to a teacher. I vividly remember sitting at the table still doing multiplication tables and being scared to death that I was going to get hit again because I couldn't write with the blood and the water from the towel I was holding to my nose soaking the notebook.
In seventh grade, you laughed at me when my teacher told you about the cuts on my wrists and said, "Those aren't cuts, those are barely scratches. You have it so much better than most people, you have nothing to be depressed about." My grades where slipping again and you decided that a more suitable punishment was for me to kneel in a corner for hours every day for months. I remember picking bits of denim from underneath what skin remained on my kneecaps, because around that time you shaved my head, took away all my clothes and replaced them all with white t shirts and blue jeans.
Then it happened. You know what I'm talking about. Don't get me wrong, I accept responsibility for the mistakes I've made. I did some fucked up things that put a huge rift in the family. It torments me. But I was a child, only 13 years old. I had to learn it from somewhere, but I still don't know where to this day. Maybe that's part of the "secrets about my life" you were only going to tell me on your terms. Either way, you picked me up from my "aunt's" at 12 am and drove me home to beat the shit out of me for 3 hours. You kicked my head through a wall, spat in my face, beat me with a broom, a gate, your fists, anything that you could use to hurt me. But honestly, I could forget about all of it, or at least be able to deal with it the same way as everything else, if it wasn't for you walking away for a cigarette break and coming back to say, "You must have a guardian angel watching over you, because the knife drawer is stuck." You laughed when I shrank back and started shaking. I thought I was going to die. You threatened a 13 year old, your 13 year old with death.
After that it was done between me and you. You despised me. The only reason you let me come back home 2 years later was because you trusted the government less than you trusted me. You made damn sure to make my life miserable though. You cut me off from my friends for trivial reasons. You made it impossible for me to do things I needed to for school and extracurriculars with bullshit excuses like "TV will control your mind," and my personal favorite, "You dont need a computer to do schoolwork, just write it out." I almost failed that year because of it. You mocked everything I enjoyed and then, without a hint of irony, tried to force me to become an accountant or something else I never once said or acted like I wanted to do. You made me feel like I didnt deserve anything good in my life because of what I had done. You threatening to kick me out over my grades was the last straw. (Fyi, that's when I started smoking cigarettes, so that's your fault too.) I got a job and moved in with some friends at 17 years old after I was done with probation and saved up for a few months.
Since then, you did nothing but blame me for your problems, talk shit about me to our family and resent me for trying to be optimistic and do better. When I asked you if I could move back in after mismanaging money, after you told me that you want me to move back in because were buying property in Wisconsin, you told me, "No you should have planned better, you should have thought ahead." I ended up in a tweakers den, getting fucked over and ultimately became homeless. Then my father called me, then you, asking about a debt collection call, you immediately assumed I stole his SSN to pull out a loan. That was it for me. I cut you off, blocked your email and number and we haven't spoken since. And even then, I'm almost positive that you told my uncle not to contact me when my great grandfather died, even through my uncle's wife had already reached out to me to tell me to get into contact.
You taught me for the longest time that I didn't deserve to be seen or heard. You taught me that I didn't matter. And because of this, I sabotaged my previous relationship, ruined my credit and am now living in my best friend's house, again, trying fix my credit and pick up the pieces of my life. Things are getting better though. Most of my debt is paid off, I have a date with a beautiful woman tomorrow and I'm feeling better than ever. I highly doubt you care, but I needed to do this for my own healing. I deserve to feel better. My future deserves the better me. If something does come out of this date tomorrow (fingers crossed) she deserves the better me. Not the me you created.
I don't hate you, nor do I love you. I just wish that I mattered to you. I wish I could see my brother and my sister again. But I know neither of those things will happen.
Until we meet again.

Beta weakens as it moves further onshore over southeastern Texas

A combination of satellite imagery, radar data, and surface observations indicate that Beta has weakened to tropical depression strength as it moves farther inland after making landfall late Monday evening. Animated infrared imagery depicts what little remains of Beta's deep convection weakening over northeastern Texas as moderate southwesterly shear associated with a deepening mid-level trough continues to displace the convection away from the exposed low-level center. Radar imagery depicts widespread rain spreading northward across eastern Texas, eastern Oklahoma, and large portions of Arkansas and Louisiana.
Intensity estimates derived from satellite imagery analysis, radar velocity data, and surface observations indicate that Beta's maximum one-minute sustained winds have fallen to 30 knots (35 miles per hour) since landfall. The mid-level steering ridge to the east has weakened considerably over the past day or so, causing the steering environment over the western Gulf of Mexico to collapse. Beta is moving very slowly toward the northeast as the approaching trough begins to influence its movement.
Latest data NHC Advisory #20 10:00 AM CDT (15:00 UTC)
Current location: 28.9°N 96.7°W 18 miles ENE of Victoria, Texas
90 miles NNE of Corpus Christi, Texas
100 miles SW of Houston, Texas

Intensity: Tropical Depression
Minimum pressure: 1005 millibars (29.68 inches)

Last updated: Tuesday, 22 September 2020 - 11:15 PM CDT (16:15 UTC)

Heavy rainfall is expected to continue across the southern United States

Beta is expected to remain within a week steering environment over the next day or so before the deepening trough upstream begins to accelerate Beta toward the northeast this evening. While Beta is expected to remain very close to the coast through Wednesday, it is expected to remain far enough inland that it is not expected to restrengthen to tropical storm strength. Beta is ultimately expected to succumb to increased shear, dry mid-level air, and frictional effects of prolonged land interaction, degenerating into a remnant low as early as Thursday morning as the low-level center passes over northern Louisiana.
Beta's initial slow movement is expected to cause heavy rainfall to linger across the middle and upper Texas coastline through Wednesday, with an additional 5 to 10 inches of rainfall expected with some isolated storm totals reaching 20 inches. Significant flash flooding and urban flooding is already occurring in this region and is expected to continue throughout the day today. As Beta begins to move more quickly northeastward on Wednesday, the threat of heavy rainfall and associated flooding effects are expected to spread to the lower Mississippi Valley on Thursday and the Tennessee Valley on Friday. Rainfall totals ranging from 2 to 5 inches are expected across portions of Louisiana, southeastern Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, northern Georgia, and the Carolinas.

2020.09.18 21:24 fuzzyrogue Would love the strongest budget desktop, just got laid off 3 days ago and want to get on my feet fast. Ready to buy everything when ever.

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.

What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?

When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.

What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)

Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?

If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.

Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?

Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)

Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?

Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?

would love to stay towards AMD named broducts, I invest in them and want to see them grow:

Alpha becomes the twenty-second named cyclone of the 2020 Atlantic season

Satellite imagery analysis over the past several hours reveals that moderate to deep convection has persisted near the low-level center of an area of low pressure situated over the Bay of Biscay. This low developed several days ago over the northern Atlantic and became cut off from the upper-level jet pattern. Over the past couple of days, the cyclone drifted southward, reaching warmer seas which helped to fuel the development of convection.
While the sea surface over the Bay of Biscay is not warm enough to support the development of a full-fledged tropical cyclone, there exists a sharp enough thermal contrast between the sea surface and the frigid upper-level environment to create convection. Animated infrared imagery indicates that the cyclone remains embedded within a larger extratropical cyclonic gyre which is drifting eastward toward Europe. Upper-level wind analysis and water vapor imagery depict robust poleward outflow.
Intensity estimates derived from satellite imagery analysis and recent scatterometer data reveal that the cyclone is producing maximum one-minute sustained winds of 45 knots (85 kilometers per hour). The cyclone is currently moving rather quickly toward the northeast as it remains embedded within the larger extratropical cyclone and is nearing the coast of Portugal.

Alpha breaks yet another Atlantic record

The National Hurricane Center has initiated advisories for this cyclone and has assigned it the name Alpha. This is only the second time that the National Hurricane Center has needed to use the Greek alphabet during a season and even then, Alpha formed well before the last time the name was used, which was 22 October 2005.
Latest data NHC Special Advisory #1 7:00 PM WEST (18:00 UTC)
Current location: 39.9°N 9.3°W 51 miles (82 km) NNE of Coimbra, Portugal

Alpha is expected to weaken almost immediately after making landfall this evening

Alpha is very close to making landfall along the coast of Portugal and is expected to do so later this evening. The cyclone is expected to move quickly over the Iberian Peninsula over the next couple of days, weakening and transitioning into a remnant low as the cyclone becomes cut off from the ocean and suffers increased frictional effects from prolonged land interaction. Alpha is expected to degenerate into a remnant low fairly quickly following landfall and dissipate over Spain on early Sunday morning.

2020.09.18 17:11 autotldr U.S. details up to $14 billion in new aid for farmers

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 21%. (I'm a bot)
3 Min Read.CHICAGO - The U.S. Agriculture Department on Friday released details of a second round of COVID-19 aid for farmers, which will pay up to $14 billion to growers of major crops such as corn, soybeans and wheat, as well as livestock, dairy and tobacco.
U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday night announced that a new round of pandemic assistance would be available to farmers at a campaign rally in Wisconsin, a crucial battleground state.
The new assistance follows a $19 billion relief program announced in April to help U.S. farmers cope with the impact of the virus, of which less than $10 billion has been paid out to date.
The Trump administration had already provided $28 billion in trade aid to the farm sector, which widely backed the president in the 2016 election, over 2018 and 2019.The new package, which will largely be funded by the Commodity Credit Corporation, also includes money for growers of specialty crops and dairy, livestock and poultry farmers.
"We listened to feedback received from farmers, ranchers and agricultural organizations about the impact of the pandemic on our nations' farms and ranches, and we developed a program to better meet the needs of those impacted," Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said in a statement.
USDA also said that up to $100 million in aid for tobacco farmers will come from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act.In the North Carolina, the top tobacco-producing state, Republican Senator Thom Tillis trails his Democratic challenger, former state Senator Cal Cunningham, who has also steadily outraised him in campaign donations.

2020.09.18 13:40 TessaBissolli Deconstructing the mythology episodes. Part 1: Kate's memories until early 1990 (First part of Requiem)

In this series, we will examine the mythology episodes, in light of what we can believe or not, what we find confirmation of, and what is demolished by applying a bit of critical thinking.
When we get to these episodes, it is extremely important to keep in mind the concept of point of view (POV). What does a character know, and when did they learn it. The easiest way to confuse the audience is to play with the POV, so they assume that just because they or another character know something, all the other characters would too.
We have had three kinds of mythology episodes: memories, hallucinations and tales.
The memories are Kate's in Requiem; Ilya's in Orion RS, forced by Skovic; and two kinds of memories remembered by Liz: the ones in 2.10, aided/forced by Dr. Orchard, and her unaided memories in 1.09, 1.17 and 2.22 of the fire, as well as 3.02 (burying a can with Katarina) and the more dubious one of 3.03 (Katarina writing in her diary).
Just as I did on the previous series, in this series I will try to analyze the apparent narrative of the mythology episodes to see where it falls apart and where is holds true. While I am trying to stay within one episode, I am also aiming for a timeline understanding and how they all work with each other, so there will be some jumping back and forth, and references to the previous series and other episodes, especially when they reference mythology.

Let us take Requiem, accepted as being Kate's memories, and thus confirmed. All this means is that Requiem the way she remembers things. Most of it can be taken as being real and true: things happened as Kate remembered, but with any memory, it can be faulty, as Red observed, memories are not tapes, played back each time.
For example, we have in Requiem two calls made by Katarina to Kate in the motel.
We do not know if this is how Katarina looked when she made the calls to Kate.
We can trust Kate was told those things, as that is HER memory of the events. But we cannot trust the images we are shown of Katarina. Where she was, what she looked like, etc., because Kate does not KNOW these things.
This is what Kate knows. She got calls from Katarina.
It might well be where Katarina was, but until we are shown the same images by someone who saw the scene being with Katarina at the time, it remains Kate's imagining what Katarina looked like, and where she was.
I accept all of Requiem's scenes as the way Kate remembers things, with the exceptions of those phone calls from Katarina.
A couple of items remain questionable, but we have had confirmation of most items in there: her going as a nanny, Katarina arriving back after a trip, three months later, the scene where Katarina kills the Soviet agent, and Kate cleans it up, finding Katarina in the woods, the unused scene with young Kirk when he says goodbye to Masha, and then the abduction. What she remembers after the fire, and culminating in the moments before 1.01 starts, in September of 2013.
The two items that jar were that in Kate's memories, Katarina calls Constantin "Alexander" twice. It was my friend u/jen5225 who realized what this might mean.
Because we know he did not take the name Alexander Kirk until after the fall of the USSR:
Alexander Kirk is the alias of an oligarch who made a fortune after the fall of the Soviet Union buying mining operations for pennies on the dollar.
It makes sense that Constantin found himself in a difficult situation after Katarina was deemed a traitor. The husband of a traitor would have got some nasty encounters with people looking for her: the cabal, the KGB and for a while, "the Americans" or the CIA. A change of name was just necessary. I am surprised he did not change his face too. Or maybe he did.
We know he began to have problems with the Kremlin in 2002.
This might have been because they realized who he was, for when Tom obtains his dossier from Russian intelligence, they know Alexander Kirk is Constantin Rostov, as they have a DNA paternity test showing him to be the father of likely Masha:
TOM: This, um, SVR report, when I talked to you earlier, I hadn't finished reading it.... It's about you. And your father.
So, likely, his problems derive from being found out as Constantin Rostov. At any rate, by 2016, when he enters the scene, having seen Liz on the run with Red, the Russians know who he really is, because of that paternity test.
The writer said using the name Alexander was a "continuity error", but was it? Was recording the lines again with the correct name too difficult? I have my doubts about it. Possible it was, but I am not convinced. too blatant, especially when earlier in the season he had already been called Constantin by Red.
https://preview.redd.it/178rxw9rovn51.png?width=757&format=png&auto=webp&s=4dba719c031cc7f7783979cf293a1c30d4dc7987
Then Red says:
People think memory - works like a video recorder. The mind records events and then, on cue, plays back an exact replica. In truth, memories are reconstructed more like putting together an ever-changing jigsaw puzzle than replaying a video.
It is possible that Kate remembers Katarina saying Alexander, because that is how she had been hearing about him?:
You don't understand, Kate. I know where they are, and so does Alexander Kirk.
or maybe as u/jen5225 suggests, she had been in contact with him.
So, not everything will be as it seems, as Kate was told half the story, as we will see. but those are her recollection of the events.
Kathryn Nemec was hired as a nanny, with a curriculum vitae that was a fake, for we know from Aram's researching her, she did not go to Northwestern for medicine, or had a Masters in Child Development, at least not under that name. She did not work abroad for diplomatic families, which leave traces when vetted for security, particularly during the Cold War.
Kathryn Nemec. Your references are outstanding. Fluent in Italian, French, German, and Russian. Most of your charges appear to have been in various diplomatic corps. ...You attended medical school at Northwestern, yet you decided not to continue. ... thus, a Master's degree in Child Development.
https://preview.redd.it/tbivlo5lnvn51.png?width=1031&format=png&auto=webp&s=72199603dda49f8df14c25d59f873c78a861e3f4
The facts, as digged up by Aram, are that she worked for an exclusive domestic agency and lived at a few addresses in the Midwest in her 30s. There is even no trace of her working in Canada for the Rostovs.
she [Nemec] disappeared in 1991, just dropped off the grid. Lived at a few addresses in the Midwest in her 30s. Worked at an exclusive domestic staffing agency, but then one day she's just gone. - And there is no more record.
This means that whoever hired her, in books, she was working somewhere in the Midwest. Her sister is living in Chicago in 1991, and then in Wisconsin. Kate's phone exchange is in Chicago, and her fake license has her being born in Chicago.
3 months after hiring Kate, Katarina arrives back from a trip
We see Kate intervene in a fight Katarina is having with a Russian man, sliding a knife to Katarina, which allows Katarina to kill the man.
https://preview.redd.it/srmuozcz0wn51.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=5328ae0a699b21ca27178c19449e09b266524b1d
Kate then suggest she would clean up the scene and Katarina would take a shower. In this scene, Katarina is not really seen as being that good at hand to hand combat, even if she is not shy violet.
Kate tells Katarina she knows she is KGB, which makes no sense, as the man killed was KGB. Agents generally kill agents from the other side, which leads me to believe that Kate already knew Katarina was supposed to be KGB and was letting her know it was fine with her. She demonstrates her knowledge of crime scene cleaning and cadaver disposal.
So, whoever sent her to Katarina, it seems Katarina knew or suspected who it was, and accepted a strange nanny with a love for cadavers and what she realized was a fake CV (when she asked how many children had she raised), because who was sending her or who she suspected was.
I cannot imagine a mother taking a nanny that loves cadavers and babies, and who had lied in her CV (make the tally yourself: a pre-medical degree (4/5 years), a few years of medical school (less than 4 ), a Masters degree (1.5 to 2), and then raising at least two sets of siblings for five or six years each set. 19 years for a bare minimum.)
https://preview.redd.it/3hv7xvvwsvn51.png?width=1916&format=png&auto=webp&s=bf136a8c3e961bf7bccfccf9509542bf2e70de94
Katarina asking Kate out of the blue, when she could not prepare, how many children had she raised, was a clue to me Katarina knew this whole CV was a bunch of lies, yet, she still hires and trusts Kate.
In Requiem we see a fake ID with a date of birth of 1953. This tallies, more or less with her being 6/9 in 1962 in the scene of her mother funeral, and puts her turning 30 in 1983/85. While she is supposedly hired by Katarina circa 1987, give or take a year, when Liz is about a year old.
Kate fake ID.
Kate believe it was Red who had hired her.
to keep Elizabeth safe, just like you asked me to all those years ago, when you first put her in my arms as a baby girl.
Red does not correct her that he only hired her in 1997, when Liz was being raised by Sam. So, either Red is letting her believe something which is not true, or Red is accepting that he somehow had a hand in her becoming Liz's nanny. But that knowledge came AFTER he had hired her, because she told Red in 1997:
KATE: Work for you? I don't know you.
We have a known case of Red hiring someone to look over Liz anonymously: an operative from the Major, Tom Keen.
https://preview.redd.it/15vrq0zm2wn51.png?width=917&format=png&auto=webp&s=17197832a5671566fc11cdd0f15d846fab55c71d
THE MAJOR TO TOM: The assignment's deep cover. No timeline, no price tag. This may seem like a cake walk, but it's the kind of assignment that makes me nervous. Our contractor has deep pockets. Demands the best, insists on anonymity.
the two hirings of Kathryn Nemec AKA Kate Kaplan
Kate believed that she had been working for Red for 30 years (1986/87), about the time she went to work for Katarina as a nanny with a fake curriculum vitae and a knowledge of cleaning a crime scene.
KATE TO AGENT GALE: Raymond thinks he out maneuvered me today, but he underestimated my commitment. I've been his cleaner, keeper, and confessor for 30 years.
Uncontested by Red, Kate said that Red had been involved in putting Liz in her care as a baby (Which might be literal or figurative, as in hiring her like he did Tom Keen, anonymously, to keep an eye on Liz).
But what she tells Red undisputed is that he hired twenty years prior. A scene we saw in Requiem, after Annie had been killed, and Kate is working for bail bondsman Little Nikos, circa 1996/97, when he sends Sam to talk to Kate, and then Kate and Red meet.
KATE: Work for you? I don't know you.
RED: I'm not as unknown as you might like to believe, Ms. Nemec.
Red sends Sam to fetch Kate, to offer her a job as his cleaner circa 1997
and then this:
When you hired me, you told me to choose Elizabeth over you. And so I tried to help her disappear to a safe place with her newborn daughter. And for that, you put me down like a mad dog. For the last two decades of my life, you had me convinced I was helping keep Elizabeth safe.
This is an interesting fact, and has become a clue for some fan theories in which Red is Katarina, after a surgery that left her an identical copy, down to voice and height to RR.
Yet, consider:
MEANS I can venture that Red hired Kate anonymously when Liz was a baby, to keep an eye on her, and eventually told Kate it had been him, and since she was cleaning bodies for Katarina, sent by Red, she was technically being a cleaner for him since then.
https://preview.redd.it/bsz95flxlvn51.png?width=1902&format=png&auto=webp&s=4b1773684b2f631cf6120c2ef34420779fc705a1
Kate then comes across Katarina and a man in a car, when Liz is about three years old, which places this scene in 1989. Because if Liz was born in 1985, but she was still four years old at the time of the fire, in December of 1990, then Liz was born in late December 1985.
https://preview.redd.it/6ku1xmkb0wn51.png?width=1613&format=png&auto=webp&s=addc831fede881421f238d40a4614dc6e845dbbd
Kate advices Katarina to break up with this man, a man she calls The American. And considering that she tells Liz that Katarina did not walk away from Raymond until it was too late and Raymond had taken Liz, believing her to be his, this man in the car must be Raymond Reddington. The man she will later blame for setting a set of events in motion which took what she loved from her, in that Katarina killed herself, at least in her view.
https://preview.redd.it/50nn1ox81wn51.png?width=1248&format=png&auto=webp&s=6db29a72349f80fc5517a6a5fe6f2227264cd412
From here, we jump to Liz's earliest memories of her mother, which come in 4.02 and 4.03, as she has been to the Summer palace and after she stole Katarina's diary from an FBI office.

2020.09.17 21:43 flyinmacaronimonster Absentee and In-Person Voting in Milwaukee

Hey Milwaukeeans!
Election Season officially begins for you as absentee ballots start going out to all registered voters that have requested a ballot, starting today.
Before I go any further, if there is one key piece of advice for you if you are voting absentee, it's that you DO NOT MAIL BACK YOUR BALLOT, and instead drop it off. There is a genuinely good reason for this, and I will explain further down below.
If you have not registered to vote yet, please do so right now. You can do so using this link:
https://myvote.wi.gov/en-US/VoterRegistration
Wednesday, October 14 is the deadline to register to vote online and by mail. You can also register to vote in-person at your municipal clerk's office during business hours up until 5:00pm or end of business on Friday, October 30. For City of Milwaukee voters, you should call the clerk's office if you want to register in person, although I would recommend finding an alternate method of voter registration. If you live outside of the City of Milwaukee, in any one of the three WOW (Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington) counties, you should do the same, and contact your municipal clerk.
https://city.milwaukee.gov/cityclerk
https://www.waukeshacounty.gov/countyclerk/
https://www.co.ozaukee.wi.us/162/Election-Information
https://www.co.washington.wi.us/264
Wisconsin is also one of a few states that also allows for same-day voter registration on Election Day, so, if you have forgotten to register to vote by Friday, October 30, you can still register to vote at your polling place on Election Day, and then subsequently vote in-person.
https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/VoterDeadlines
IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT MACHINE HACKING, KEEP IN MIND THAT WISCONSIN DOES NOT USE VOTING MACHINES IN THEIR ELECTIONS AS OF 2020, EXCEPT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, AND ALSO KEEP IN MIND THAT THESE MACHINES WILL HAVE A PAPER TRAIL. In Milwaukee, and the WOW counties, ballot marking devices (a bit different than a voting "machine") will be used by people with disabilities, but for the majority of voters (i.e. ones without a disability), hand-marked paper ballots will be used.

https://verifiedvoting.org/verifie#mode/navigate/map/ppEquip/mapType/normal/yea2020/state/55/county/89
If you are voting in-person or are a first-time absentee voter, or, if you are requesting an absentee ballot and have updated your name or address, you will need to provide a photo ID with your absentee ballot request. The reason why you need to show ID with an absentee ballot request if you have had a name or address change is because you essentially need to re-register, and every time you register or re-register to vote, you will need to provide a photo ID with your absentee ballot request.
In terms of Photo ID in general, Wisconsin has a very strict photo ID law. Most photo IDs (like a driver's license) need to be up to date as of November 6, 2018. If you need to update your driver's license or other photo ID, please do so now or as soon as possible. Some photo IDs must be unexpired, but most do not need to be.
Here's a site that explains the types of voter ID that are acceptable:
https://bringit.wi.gov/do-i-have-right-photo-id
If you have registered to vote and have not requested an absentee ballot, request an absentee ballot if you would like. Again, remember: if you have never requested an absentee ballot in Wisconsin, or, if you have updated your name or address, you will need a photo ID to accompany your absentee ballot request.

Once you have requested and have received your absentee ballot, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY, fill out your ballot, and then MAKE SURE TO SIGN YOUR NAME IN THE CORRECT PLACE. As well, YOU WILL NEED 1 SIGNATURE WITNESS to sign the envelope. A witness can be anybody over 18 who is not running for public office.
If you are worried about your ballot being rejected due to a mismatched signature, do not worry as they will not reject it outright without letting you know, and without giving you a chance to fix it, HOWEVER this process needs to be done before polls close (8:00pm CT) on Election Day. Because of this, please make sure to avoid dropping off your ballot on Election Day if possible, and instead drop it off earlier, and preferably as early as possible.
https://elections.wi.gov/node/6797
Once you have done all that DO NOT MAIL BACK YOUR BALLOT. The real reason why is because Wisconsin makes it incredibly easy to return your absentee ballot. Wisconsin, like Michigan, administers their elections New England-style. In other words, each municipality is basically in charge of administering the election.
So, your MUNICIPAL (NOT county) clerk will be the ones sending out ballots, and your MUNICIPAL (NOT county) clerk's office will be the ones that your ballot will ultimately need to be returned to. This makes it easier to drop off your ballot, as you will not need to go far to drop it off.
When sending back your ballot, it is important to note that you need to drop it off in the MUNICIPALITY that you are voting in, NOT in the county. For example, if you live in the City of Milwaukee, you will need to drop it off within the city limits of Milwaukee, and not anywhere else in Milwaukee County.
In terms of dropping off your absentee ballot, there are 4 ways to do so:
1) Drop it off at a drop-box in your municipality
I have been doing research on the extent to which ballot drop-boxes exist in Wisconsin. I have found that, in nearly all cities, villages, and towns there is at least 1 drop-box in any given municipality. In the City of Milwaukee, there will be 15 secure drop-boxes all over the city. As well, virtually every municipality in Milwaukee and the WOW Counties (Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington Counties) have a drop box within their municipality, usually at the city/town/village hall. Use these drop-boxes as the primary option of ballot drop-off. Contact your municipal clerk for more details about where your drop box is located.
2) Hand-deliver it in-person to your municipal clerk's office.
It is highly recommended that you avoid returning your ballot in-person if you are in the City of Milwaukee, and instead use a drop box. If you insist on using this option, contact the City Clerk's office in Advance. Same with the cities in Milwaukee County and also the WOW Counties.
3) Return to a polling site during the Early Voting period.
You can also return your ballot to an early voting site. For the City of Milwaukee, Early Voting is held between Tuesday, October 20 and Sunday, November 1. Drive thru early voting may be available in some locations, which could possibly make it easier to drop off your ballot. As a side note, both Fiserv Arena downtown and Miller Park on the west end are being used as essentially massive early voting sites. Check the links below for early voting hours and dates in Milwaukee City and Milwaukee County. If you are in the WOW counties contact your municipal clerk for more details about early voting times.
4) Return to a polling site on Election Day.
This is also an option for dropping off your ballot, however it is more recommended that you drop it off earlier. Still, it is an option if need be.

Generally speaking, you, and only you, should drop off your own ballot, however, if you cannot drop it off yourself, you can have somebody else that you trust drop it off for you. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE YOUR BALLOT TO ANYBODY WHO YOU DO NOT FULLY TRUST.
Ballots need to be returned by 8:00pm CT on Election Day.
For several reasons, including the fact that ballot drop-off is local, the fact that there is a drop-box or drop-off point in virtually every municipality, and also because there there are so many options for dropping off your ballot, Wisconsin is, in my opinion, one of the very easiest states to drop off your ballot, and is even up there with Oregon and Washington in terms of ease of dropping it off.
IF YOU ARE VOTING IN PERSON
If you want to vote in-person, it is recommended that you vote as early as possible.
For the City of Milwaukee, Early Voting is held between Tuesday, October 20 and Sunday, November 1. Drive thru early voting may be available in some locations. You may also vote in-person on Election Day, though it is recommended that you vote early if you are voting in person. Again, make sure you have your valid photo ID.

Early Voting in the City of Wausau is available every day from Tuesday, October 20 through to Friday, October 30, except for Sunday, October 25. You can drop off your ballot at the early voting site. Drive thru voting will be available on Friday, October 23 between 3pm-7pm and on Saturday, October 24 between 8am-3pm. For early voting outside of the city of Wausau in Marathon County, contact your municipal clerk's office for more details.
You may also vote in-person on Election Day, though it is recommended that you vote early if you are voting in person. Again, make sure you have your valid photo ID.

2020.09.17 20:31 flyinmacaronimonster Absentee and In-Person Voting in Sheboygan

Hey people of Sheboygan!
For City of Sheboygan voters: 8:30am-4:30pm MON-FRI at the City Clerk's office at City Hall @ 828 Center Ave, Suite 103 in downtown Sheboygan (except Friday, October 30, in which it will be open until 5:00pm). If you live outside of the City of Sheboygan in Sheboygan County, contact your municipal clerk's office for hours.
https://www.sheboyganwi.gov/residents/voter-information/
In Sheboygan County, ballot marking devices (a bit different than a voting "machine") will be used by people with disabilities, but for the majority of voters (i.e. ones without a disability), hand-marked paper ballots will be used.
https://verifiedvoting.org/verifie#mode/navigate/map/ppEquip/mapType/normal/yea2020/state/55/county/117

IF YOU ARE VOTING IN-PERSON INSTEAD OF ABSENTEE-BY-MAIL, SKIP TO THE IF YOU ARE VOTING IN PERSON SECTION BELOW
For example, if you live in the City of Sheboygan, you will need to drop it off within the city limits of Sheboygan, and not anywhere else in Sheboygan County.
In the City of Sheboygan, there will be 2 drop-boxes: 1 outside of City Hall @ 828 Center Ave downtown, and 1 other drop-box outside of Meade Library @ 710 N 8th St, also downtown. If you live outside of Sheboygan city limits, in Sheboygan County, drop boxes will likely be available in almost all municipalities, although it is also possible that you may need to arrange a drop-off with your municipal clerk if you live in a smaller and more rural township, though, again, it varies by municipality. Check out the link below, or contact your municipal clerk for more details if your municipality is not on the list.
2) Hand-deliver it in-person to your municipal clerk's office.
The City Clerk's office in Sheboygan @ 828 Center Ave, suite 103, will be open from 8:30am-4:30pm MON-FRI at City Hall, through to Election Day for ballot drop off. Hours will likely be extended on Election Day. This is still another option for you to drop off your ballot, however, it is more recommended that you drop off your ballot off at the one of the two drop-boxes downtown, at City Hall or at the library. If you live outside of the City of Sheboygan, in Sheboygan County, check out the list below contact your municipal clerk's office for hours. Please be safe when returning it in-person to your municipal clerk's office.
3) Return to a polling site during the Early Voting period.
Early Voting in the City of Sheboygan is available at the City Clerk's office (828 Center Ave, Suite 103) Tuesday, October 20 through to Friday, October 30, open all days except for Sunday, October 25. You can drop off your ballot here as well. For early voting outside of the city of Sheboygan, contact your municipal clerk for more details.
4) Return to a polling site on Election Day.
This is also an option for dropping off your ballot, however it is more recommended that you drop it off earlier. Still, it is an option if need be.
